Spec House #2, Rudolph M. Schindler w/ E Richard Lind, 1937-1940

We’re back in Los Angeles to visit another one of Rudolph M. Schindler’s lesser-known Spec Houses in Inglewood, California. In a previous episode, we visited the neighboring Schindler Spec House with Kali and Richard. This time, we sat down with Joel and Onna to hear the story behind the house next door and the vision that led to its restoration. Joel and his father-in-law saw something special in this largely overlooked Schindler home and took on the challenge of bringing it back to life while respecting the architect’s original ideas and design.

We talk with Joel and Onna about discovering the house, the restoration process, and what it means to care for a piece of Los Angeles architectural history that isn’t as widely known. Another Schindler house, another story, and another reminder of why these places are worth preserving.
