The Beagles House, Pierre Koenig, 1963

In this episode, we meet with Kent Severin, who shares the story of how he took on the job of preserving and revitalizing the Beagles House, a remarkable residence designed by renowned architect Pierre Koenig. Completed in 1963, the Beagles House is an important example of Koenig’s approach to modernist residential architecture, defined by its structure, materials, light, and connection to the surrounding landscape. Kent takes us through how he became involved with the house, the challenges of working on the project, and his efforts to honor Koenig’s original vision while bringing the home into the present day.

Remarkably, the Beagles House survived the devastating Palisades Fire in 2025, making its continued preservation all the more meaningful.
